TEALA WARD PHOTOGRAPHY | FAMILY SESSION | PALO DURO CANYON STATE PARK

Have you ever tried to take photos of your own family or tried to be in any of those photos? It is not impossible but it is definitely extremely difficult. So, there comes a time when even photographers need their photos taken. Which is why I was thrilled when Pearla contacted me. Pearla is a fellow photographer and I am a huge fan of her work. She needed family photos taken and I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous!

Each photographer has a different style with different angles and lighting they prefer. There was a little bit of added pressure working with someone that "knew her stuff" but I was up for the challenge and as the photographer she selected, I was confident that I could provide what she was looking for.

We started working together in the early evening and I loved how natural this cute family was in front of the camera. We had beautifully tender moments that exploded with personality as the kids interacted together and with Pearla and her husband.

As the sun began to set farther on the horizon I asked Pearla's son to tell his mom why he loved her. I watched as the most raw and genuine sentiments were exchanged and some of the most beautiful moments unfolded before me. It almost brought me to tears. I wasn't completely prepared for such a sweet response but I hope it is one that they will treasure together and always remember when they look back on this session.

I am flattered and grateful for the opportunity to photograph such a wonderful family. I hope they are able to enjoy these photos and memories for years to come.
