Megan + Stewart | Intimate Wedding in Tiskilwa, Illinois

Megan and Stuart had the most beautiful, intimate wedding in Tiskilwa, IL. It was a gorgeous day from start to finish. Everything was so well thought out and perfectly planned. We started the day by taking some detailed shots as Megan got ready and put on her stunning lace wedding dress with a long train in the back. I also had her hand over her rings for a few ring shots. This is one of my favorite parts, as everyone’s styles are so different, and come on, who doesn’t love jewelry? Megan’s engagement ring is gorgeous. It is a simple gold band with a large, square-cut diamond that is just timeless. This is now paired with her wedding band, which is gold and covered in smaller, round diamonds. Let's just say that Stuart did a great job on ring shopping.

It was a hot and humid day in July in Bureau County, but they held the wedding in Stuart’s mother’s backyard, which was absolutely perfect. We were out of the sun and everyone was having a great time. There was a classic red barn and so many places to show off their beautiful florals. Megan’s bridesmaids wore flowy blush bridesmaids' dresses that matched the roses decorating the space, and Stuart and his groomsmen were ready for the heat in shorts and simple blue button-down shirts. 

This was definitely a small wedding, but there is something so special about only having the most important people with you on your big day. It has become so customary to have a large wedding full of acquaintances and distant family members that you hardly even know. Don’t get me wrong, I love a nice big wedding, but it’s not for everyone. Having a ceremony surrounded by the closest people in your circle is the dream, and if you are most comfortable having only those people with you on your wedding day, I say go for it! I felt so lucky to be there to capture Megan and Stuart’s love for each other in such a simply beautiful celebration.
