Marty + McKenzie Ballroom Wedding | LaSalle, Illinois

Marty and McKenzie are the most laid-back couple I have ever worked with! Their wedding day was cold and windy but I don’t think anybody really noticed the weather because they were so focused on the happy couple.

Their ceremony took place in an absolutely stunning church, as you can see. After the ceremony, we went on a little adventure to their home, which sits on a gorgeous plot of land. Marty and McKenzie love to spend time together outdoors so it felt only natural that we spent some of their wedding day outside as well. Plus, the location where we took their portraits is where he proposed to her! I love thoughtful and well-planned details like this. They make the wedding day and our portraits together so much more special. The wedding party members were such troopers to come with us in less-than-ideal weather. It speaks volumes about Marty and McKenzie that their friends and family braved the cold just so they could pose for photos with them.

The reception took place at a historic ballroom in downtown LaSalle, Illinois. The brick details and grand chandeliers just added to the tone of glamour and luxury their wedding day already had. I can’t get enough of McKenzie’s classically designed wedding dress! The cut suits her perfectly and her long train made for a lot of fun photos. I loved taking photos of the train all fanned out at every location we went to on their wedding day. Add in the gorgeous red tones of the bridesmaids and crisp white tux jackets on Marty and his groomsmen and the whole affair was really elegant. I loved watching this happy couple go around their reception and personally thank each table for coming to celebrate them. That's such a meaningful touch that I know goes a long way for guests.

Thank you to Marty and McKenzie for letting me capture your most important day! I can tell how much you love each other and your families, and they love you right back. It was an honor to be included in such a special celebration and I wish you all the happiness in the world.
